Heimdall Terms of Use

Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Heimdall, a Telegram group protection bot developed and operated by Odin Tools ("we", "us", "our").

By using Heimdall — whether as a group administrator who adds Heimdall to a group, or as a group member in a group where Heimdall operates — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Heimdall and do not remain in groups where Heimdall is active.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Heimdall as a group administrator.

By adding Heimdall to a group, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You have the authority and permission to add moderation tools to the group
• Your use of Heimdall complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
• Your use of Heimdall complies with Telegram's Terms of Service

Description of Service

Heimdall is a group moderation tool that allows Telegram group administrators to:

• Automatically detect and remove scam, spam, and violation messages
• Automatically ban users identified as scammers or bad actors
• Clean and moderate group chats in real-time
• Maintain group safety through access to a shared scammer database
• Configure moderation rules and behavior specific to their group

Heimdall operates by analyzing messages sent in groups where it has been added by an administrator. It makes automated moderation decisions based on this analysis and data from its shared scammer database.

The free tier of Heimdall is supported by advertising (see Section 4). Group administrators may purchase Pro Mode to remove advertising (see Section 5).

Advertising

4.1 How Advertising Works

The free tier of Heimdall is supported by advertising. By adding Heimdall to your group without a Pro Mode subscription, you agree that Heimdall may periodically send promotional messages to your group on behalf of third-party advertisers.

4.2 Nature of Ads

Advertisements sent by Heimdall:

• Are clearly identifiable as promotional content
• Are sent at intervals determined by us, at our discretion
• May promote third-party products, services, or Odin Tools products
• Are not endorsements by Odin Tools of any advertised product or service

4.3 Administrator Acknowledgment

By using the free tier, group administrators acknowledge and agree that:

• Their group members will see advertising messages sent by Heimdall
• They are responsible for informing their group members that the group uses Heimdall, which includes advertising
• We are not liable for any member complaints or disputes arising from the display of advertisements

4.4 We Are Not Responsible for Ad Content

We do not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of third-party advertisement content. If you encounter advertising you believe is misleading or inappropriate, contact [email protected].

Pro Mode

5.1 What Pro Mode Is

Pro Mode is a paid subscription for group administrators that removes all advertising from Heimdall in their group. A group with an active Pro Mode subscription will not receive any advertising messages.

5.2 Fees

Pro Mode fees are disclosed within the bot. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time. Changes will be communicated before taking effect and will not affect active subscription periods already paid for.

5.3 Subscription Terms

• Pro Mode is billed on a subscription basis as described in the bot
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• You may cancel your Pro Mode subscription at any time through the bot
• Upon cancellation, Pro Mode remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which advertising resumes

5.4 Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partially used subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.

5.5 Termination of Pro Mode

If your access to Heimdall is terminated for a violation of these Terms, any active Pro Mode subscription is also terminated without refund.

What Heimdall Is Not

Heimdall is not:

• A human moderator or a replacement for human judgment
• A legally certified content moderation or compliance service
• An infallible detection system — false positives may occur
• A service that monitors or reads private (direct) messages
• A guarantee of complete protection against all forms of spam or scam activity

Heimdall is a software tool that automates moderation decisions based on configurable rules and pattern detection. Final responsibility for group moderation policy and member treatment rests with the group administrator.

Automated Moderation & Decision-Making

7.1 How Heimdall Makes Decisions

Heimdall analyzes message content in real-time using automated methods including pattern matching, keyword detection, and link analysis. Based on this analysis — and cross-referenced against its scammer database — Heimdall may automatically:

• Delete messages flagged as violations
• Warn or mute users
• Ban users from the group
• List a user's Telegram User ID in the shared scammer database

7.2 Cross-Group Enforcement

Actions taken against a user in one group may affect that user's access to other groups that use Heimdall. If a user is listed in the scammer database as a result of activity in one group, they may be automatically banned from other Heimdall-protected groups.

7.3 Limitations of Automated Decisions

If you believe you have been incorrectly banned or listed in the scammer database, you may request human review. See Section 11 for your rights.

The Scammer Database

8.1 What It Is

Heimdall maintains a shared database of Telegram User IDs associated with detected scam or violation behavior, used to enable proactive banning across groups and prevent known bad actors from re-entering Heimdall-protected groups.

8.2 Basis for Listing

Entries in the database may be based on:

• Automated detection of scam or violation behavior
• Reports submitted by group administrators
• Cross-group pattern analysis

8.3 Consequences of Being Listed

If your Telegram User ID is in the scammer database, you may be:

• Automatically banned upon attempting to join any Heimdall-protected group
• Removed from groups that conduct a scan after you join

8.4 Disputing a Listing

You may request removal from the scammer database by contacting [email protected]. We will review the request and respond within 30 days. We will correct or remove entries found to be inaccurate.

Group Administrator Responsibilities

9.1 You Are a Data Controller

If you add Heimdall to a Telegram group, you become a data controller under applicable data protection law for the personal data of your group members that Heimdall processes on your behalf. Odin Tools acts as a data processor for the purposes of operating Heimdall in your group.

9.2 Your Obligations

As a group administrator using Heimdall, you are responsible for:

• Informing your group members that Heimdall is active and monitoring messages, and that the free tier includes advertising
• Ensuring your use of Heimdall complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including data protection laws
• Providing group members with a way to contact you regarding moderation decisions
• Configuring Heimdall appropriately for your group's community standards
• Not using Heimdall to target individuals on the basis of protected characteristics or to facilitate harassment

9.3 Misuse of Moderation Powers

You agree not to use Heimdall to:

• Harass, discriminate against, or target users on the basis of protected characteristics
• Facilitate illegal activities or suppress lawful speech
• Remove users for reasons unrelated to legitimate group moderation

Group Member Notice

If you are a member of a Telegram group that uses Heimdall, you should be aware that:

• Heimdall may analyze messages you send in that group
• Heimdall may take automated moderation actions against your account, including banning
• Your Telegram User ID may be added to Heimdall's shared scammer database if violation behavior is detected
• Actions in one group may affect your access to other Heimdall-protected groups
• You may receive advertising messages sent by Heimdall in groups using the free tier
• You may have been subjected to Heimdall's processing without having directly interacted with Heimdall

Your Rights

11.1 Right to Challenge Automated Decisions

If you have been banned or listed in the scammer database through automated means, you have the right to request human review. Contact [email protected] with:

• Your Telegram User ID or username
• The group(s) from which you were banned (if known)
• A brief description of why you believe the decision is incorrect

We will respond within 30 days.

11.2 Additional Rights

For full details of your privacy rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, and others), refer to the Heimdall Privacy Policy and the Odin Tools Master Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Heimdall to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Harass or discriminate against any individual or group
• Abuse or attempt to manipulate Heimdall's detection systems, including deliberately triggering false positives against users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Heimdall's infrastructure, scammer database, or other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Heimdall
• Circumvent any security measures or access controls
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers connected to the service

Account Suspension & Termination

13.1 By Us

We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate a group administrator's access to Heimdall if:

• They violate these Terms
• We are required to do so by law or regulation
• We detect abusive or fraudulent use of Heimdall's moderation capabilities
• Continued provision of the service poses a risk to us or other users

13.2 By the Group Administrator

A group administrator may stop using Heimdall at any time by removing it from their group. Removing Heimdall will cease its moderation activity in that group.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon removal or termination, Heimdall will cease processing data in the relevant group. Existing entries in the scammer database that originated from that group are not automatically removed. Group administrators may submit a data deletion request to [email protected].

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Heimdall is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory
• We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of moderation decisions
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Heimdall, including but not limited to:
  • False positives — incorrectly flagged messages or users
  • False negatives — violations that Heimdall failed to detect
  • Loss of group membership or access resulting from an automated moderation decision
  • Reputational harm arising from an inaccurate scammer database listing
  • Downtime, service interruptions, or bugs
  • Actions or inactions of group administrators using Heimdall
  • Any claims arising from advertising content displayed by Heimdall
• Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the greater of €100 EUR or the total Pro Mode fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Odin Tools and its operator from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of Heimdall
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation, including data protection laws
• Your failure to fulfill your obligations as a data controller
• Any dispute between you and a group member relating to moderation decisions or advertising messages delivered through Heimdall

Third-Party Services

Heimdall relies on third-party services to operate, including but not limited to:

• Telegram — Communication platform through which Heimdall operates
• Hosting / Infrastructure — Cloud or VPS providers running Heimdall's backend and scammer database

We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their availability or performance. Your use of Telegram is subject to Telegram's Terms of Service.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in Heimdall, including but not limited to the software, design, branding, and documentation, are owned by Odin Tools. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand assets.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Heimdall in accordance with these Terms.

Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated through the bot or our official channels.

Your continued use of Heimdall after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using Heimdall.

General Provisions

19. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Heimdall (or any feature within it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Heimdall Privacy Policy and the Odin Tools Master Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Odin Tools regarding your use of Heimdall and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
