Token security and tax
Automatic honeypot checks on EVM tokens, and the token tax on every quote, on every chain.
Thor checks a token before you buy. On EVM chains it runs a full security audit. On every chain it shows the token tax on each quote.
The security audit (EVM chains)
Thor reads the GoPlus flags and runs a simulated buy and sell: "Checked with GoPlus and a simulated buy and sell, {s}s ago."
GoPlus flags include:
- GoPlus: honeypot, Can't sell all, Mintable supply, Upgradeable proxy
- Blacklist, Hidden owner, Self-destruct, Transfers can be paused
What the card tells you
| Card | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Security checks passed | No GoPlus flags (honeypot, mint, proxy, blacklist) |
| High risk · (number) flags | Check the flags before buying |
| Scam risk · trade blocked | A simulated sell failed. Thor won't buy this token |
| Caution | GoPlus and the simulation disagree. Press Buy again to continue anyway |
If there is no sell pool, Thor says so: a sell only works on the liquidity your own buy adds.
Honeypots are blocked by an actual simulated sell, not only by a flag list.
Token tax (every chain)
Some tokens take a cut on each buy or sell. Thor shows it in the audit and on every quote: Buy tax (%) · Sell tax (%), plus "≈ ($ amount) of this trade".
- Above 0 is amber. 5% or more on either side is red.
- Solana Token-2022 tokens show the tax "From the token's own on-chain transfer fee", plus "At most (maximum) (token) per transfer" when it is capped.
- not checked means that side wasn't checked.
Warning: If the tax is at or above your slippage, the trade will most likely fail on chain and still cost gas. Set the slippage above the tax, or skip the token.
Good to know
- The tax is information only: no trade is blocked because of its tax.
- Solana tokens get tax info but no block verdict. Use the Trenches risk flags and the checks in Trading safely.
